David P. Gerber

Founder & CEO

David is the Founder/CEO of Wolfgang Capital, LLC. David has over 30 years of accounting and finance experience, including over 25 years of working with hedge funds, private equity, and traditional asset managers. Before founding Wolfgang, David served as President/CFO/Partner in several successful industry leading firms including SAC Capital Advisors, Great Point Partners, and Daruma Asset Management. Additionally, he has co-founded and built start-up investment firms from $10 mil to $3 billion AUM. He has a deep understanding of business building, strategy, capital markets, execution, taxation, and investor requirements, from public and corporate pension plans, endowments, family offices, foundations, non-US investors, and individuals. David earned a BS in Accounting from Montclair State University in 1989 and earned his CPA license in the state of New Jersey.

  • Robert Motch

    CPA, Managing Director

    Rob spent most of his career (15+ years) in financial services and hedge funds. Before joining Wolfgang Capital, Rob was CFO of Daruma Capital Management, LLC., a $1B+ asset manager. Rob began his career at Rothstein Kass in their financial services practice. During his career, Rob held various controller roles at Rockbay Capital, Reservoir Capital Group and Prentice Capital Management. Rob worked alongside David to rebuild and streamline operations and launch multiple investment funds. Rob earned a BS in Accounting and BS in Finance from Lehigh University in 2002.

  • Pam Mulhearn

    Management Company Controller

    Pam has over 30 years of experience in accounting and finance. She coordinates with our clients to manage their day-to-day finances including accounts payable, payroll, reconciliations and financial reporting. Pam believes that communication, client service and collaboration are key elements of a successful team, and she strives to provide these at the highest levels. Pam’s career includes progressive growth and development roles with the state of Arizona, including 21 years with Arizona State University. Pam earned a BS in Accounting from Montclair State University in 1989.

  • Marc Abel

    CPA, Managing Director

    Marc Abel has over 25 years of experience in financial services and is a Managing Director at Wolfgang Capital. Prior to joining Wolfgang, from 2023 to 2025 he was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for One68 Global Capital, LLC, a merger arbitrage Long/Short equity hedge fund. Before his tenure at One68 Global Capital from 2020 to 2023, Mr. Abel served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Hickory Lane Capital, a Long/Short equity hedge fund. Prior to Hickory Lane, from inception in 2016to 2020 Mr. Abel served as Chief Financial Officer at Aurmedis Global Capital a Long/Short equity hedge fund with a TMT focus. Preceding Aurmedis, Mr. Abel served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer from inception in 2008 to 2016 of Eisenstat Capital Partners, a $1.5BN European concentrated Long/Short equity hedge fund. Preceding Eisenstat, Mr. Abel served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer from inception in 2001 to 2008 of Stonebrook Fund Management, a $1.5BN Long/Short equity hedge fund. Earlier in his career he worked at Rothstein Kass and Company for 10 years in the financial services practice; five in audit, five in tax. Mr. Abel holds a CPA license in the State of New York and received a BSBA degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1992. In addition, Mr. Abel obtained his Master of Science in Taxation from Seton Hall University.

  •  Howard Altman

    Howard Altman spent his entire career in public accounting, most recently as Chairman and co-CEO of Rothstein Kass & Co., a national accounting and consulting firm. Howard led the firm’s Financial Services practice. He was also a frequent speaker at industry conferences, including the Goldman Sachs CFO Conference, Bloomberg Hedge Fund Conference, and countless others. Howard has served as Chair of Investment Partnership Committee of the AICPA Investment Company Committee and AICPA Technical Practice Aid Committee. Howard received his BS in Accounting and Masters in Taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

  • Frank C. Meyer

    A successful private investor, Frank Meyer was most recently Chairman of Glenwood Capital Investments, which he founded in 1988. He was also co-manager of Grosvenor Partners. Frank has been an early investor in many funds, including Citadel, SAC Capital and Cerberus, as well as several funds for which David Gerber served as CFO subsequent to SAC. Frank has served on numerous company boards and as an outside director for several public companies. A frequent guest speaker at many industry conferences and events, Frank received his BA and MBA from the University of Chicago and began his career at the university’s School of Business as an instructor of statistics.

  • Matt Rosenthal

    Matt is an accomplished IT executive and business strategist with an impressive history of spearheading all aspects of implementation, optimization, and support of diverse IT systems. Matt is the Founder and President/CEO of Mindcore, a full-service technology services company. Matt has served as CFO/COO of several multimillion-dollar companies with full responsibility for technology, finance, human resources, sales, inventory, and strategic planning. He has introduced process reengineering initiatives across multiple areas, overhauled finance management, and heightened operational efficiency. Matt holds an MBA in Technology Management and a BS in Criminal Justice/Sociology.

  • Andrew Lester, CPA

    Andy has 40+ years of experience building and managing businesses. He helped build a 10-person team at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette that specialized in providing research coverage to hedge funds, family offices and managing retail capital. DLJ was later sold to Credit Suisse and their team moved to ABN-AMRO where he was Managing Director and Co-Head of Hedge Fund sales and research. He has held COO roles at Sigma Capital and Convector Capital, and he co-founded two hedge funds. Andy was Co-Head of Origination & Investments at ShareNett. He earned a B.S. in Accounting from Brooklyn College, MBA State University of New York at Albany and he is a CPA in New York State.
